Thursday, June 22nd – How do you access ALL your inventory? New & Used?

Hi, this is Eve from Client Support and I have another great suggestion for managing your equipment.  Scenario:  You have a customer interested in the new dozer you have sitting in the yard and you want to send them photos, details, specs, components available and more importantly – the price.  Where are you going to pull this marketing information together without going through a whole song and dance? 

Solution:  All your NEW equipment can be put in your Point2 database, listing how the unit in the yard is spec'd out or what‘s available for your customer to order from the factory.  Point2 understands that you may have territory restrictions on new equipment, that’s why we have a VISIBILITY option where you can make these NEW units NON-VISIBLE to the general public.

Friday, June 16th – Finding that illusive inventory.

Hi, this is Eve from Client Support and I have another tip for you.  Scenario:   You have a customer looking for a wheel loader spec’d out with some options you don’t have in stock and as in most cases, the client wants it yesterday.  So you have a couple of choices; you can spend a few days on the phone playing telephone tag with all your contacts to see if they have something in inventory or you can send a message out over the wire.

Solution:  Have your Used Equipment Department place a Want Ad on Point2.  Simply log into the Members Area, place your request and it’s emailed to hundreds of equipment sellers worldwide that have specifically requested to receive these leads.  Your request is posted on UsedIron.com’s website too.  The best part is that only the sellers with something to talk to you about respond.  Whether you are looking for machines, attachments or parts – Want Ads get the message out.

Monday June 12th – Point2 customer speaks out!

Hi, this Chester.  Received some great feedback from one of our customers late last week.  | | | |   It's coming up for 7 years since we had the very first opportunity to meet with Point2 representatives.I must say; initially I was apprehensive!I just did not believe that everything would work this well, this easy and be so ready and available for both the seller as well as the buyer.  Well, I never like admitting it but, Point2 after all this time, has never disappointed us with the broad coverage, the ease of creating new and adjusting existing ads. The best part of course is removing the add of a "SOLD" item.Seven years later, we are more than pleased with the results.We use the site extensively to attract prospects to our products and the feed back we receive from them is purely positive.It works for us, period!

Being up to date on what used equipment becomes available, keeps you one step ahead of the other guy.  Suggestion: You can receive a daily e-mail of equipment added to UsedIron.com.  The listings feature photos, details, features, conditions on the equipment, as well as the seller’s contact information.

Thursday June 1st – May statistics for UsedIron.com

Hi, this is Chester Hagen.  I'd like to give you some updates on our ongoing success with the public equipment website – UsedIron.com.  Many of you use UsedIron.com as an effective way to market your "for sale" inventory.

May 2006 was another strong month for traffic on UsedIron.com with over 110,000 Sessions recorded accumulating over 1.4Million Page Views (there were over 6Million hits).  Google was the #1 referrer, sending close to 39,000 visitors to UsedIron in May.  With approximately 15,000 machines for sale on UsedIron.com we received over 280,000 detailed views (that's when someone actually looks at the details of a unit).  These 280,000 detailed views resulted in almost 500 email leads to our sellers on actual units they own (this does NOT include "want to buys", or "want ad" messages sent to all).  Since we do not track telephone calls we don't know how many of those occured to our customers during the month (hundreds we're sure).
