Tuesday, May23rd – Inventory lists for On the Go!

Hi, this is Eve from Support and I wanted to introduce myself by way of some pretty cool marketing tools in Point2 Manager.  Having the necessary tools to help you sell equipment and do your job better is priority one. 

SCENARIO:  You’re flying down Route 66.  You get a call from a customer interested in an excavator.  This is a hot prospect, you want to tell him then and there, what's in your inventory.  With all the equipment in stock it’s tough to keep on top of what’s moving out the door and coming in the yard.  You don’t want to get back to him the next day, the next afternoon, the next hour – you want accurate information now, while you have him on the line, so you can do what you do best – land the deal.  The glitch is, without confidence in the equipment list you got last week, you need to check your excavator inventory with the office first – giving your customer the opportunity to wriggle off the hook.

Here’s the TIP:  Before you hit the road, print a current and accurate inventory list of your equipment (with a thumbnail photo option) quickly and easily with Point2 Manager.  You can sort the information in different ways and refine the list to include only the units that interest you.  These lists can be emailed, faxed and save to your desktop as well, and like many of the other Point2 tools, it only requires a few clicks of the mouse.  (No typing!) 

Take this one step further and install Point2 LARGO on a PDA with all your inventory (details, features and up to EIGHT PHOTOS) – now that’s power at your finger tips.

Wednesday May 17th – 2.0 build is LIVE!

Included in this release is the following:

  • Imbedded search of UsedIron.com in the Marketing Tools section,
  • Changes to the header of Express Reports and Inventory Reports,
  • Date filter for Quote searching,
  • Search screen cacheing (hit the back button and it now saves your search set),
  • Search results FAST table sorting,
  • Number of photos shown in search results rather than Yes/No,
  • Increased session time out up to 90 minutes.

Among many new additions and features we've added this "blog".  We've probably all heard about this phenomenon called blogging (some might even call it "geeky") but there are some very practical uses for it.  We hope we're using it in a way that is valuable to you!  We will use this imbedded blog to keep you up to date with changes, tips & tricks on how to use MANAGER more effectively, customer tips on how they are using the product that has helped their operations, plus much more!  You are always welcome to comment on any blog entry and feel free to ask us, or one another, questions.

Monday May 8th – Leavitt Machinery – Rental, Fleet and Used Equipment

Eve Marshall and I (this is Chester Hagen) spent a couple hours at our customer Leavitt Machinery last Thursday afternoon (May 4th).  It was very interesting to see this dealer (they sell forklifts, arial lifts etc. across BC, Alberta and Washington) using, and relying on, Point2 Manager.  Point2 Manager today is their "operating system" from the standpoint of managing the rental fleets status (in, out, in shop, location, hours etc) Their entire rental fleet of 1,000 units in over 15 branch locations is managed through Point2 Manager. 

In Thursday's meeting we met with the Used Equipment Manager (Bob MacIntosh) on how Point2 Manager could be used for managing their entire fleet (expanded past rentals) and bring a cohesive structure to inventory management (rental, fleet, and used) and ultimately the final sales & marketing of used equipment.  We showed them how Point2 MANAGER can work best for them – from how our systems can link with their business system to how they can equipment their sale team with PDAs loaded with their entire inventory (including pictures – check out our Largo program).  Imagine a salesman equipped with 5,000 machines in his handheld with completely up to date information!!

We'll tell you more about some of our other clients using Largo another time.
